The Athletic Club winger has always prided himself on being a humble character, with the obvious benefits of fame and fortune often being shunned in favour of committing himself fully to a career that has allowed him to become a household name.

Williams did, however, look to treat himself after becoming a European Championship winner. Following Spain’s triumph over England in the final of Euro 2024, the highly-rated forward splashed out on an expensive set of wheels – but only after getting a green light from his mother and older brother, Inaki.
WHAT NICO WILLIAMS SAID
Williams has told of how the keys to a supercar ended up in his possession: “I had to work hard for it. I won a bet that my brother and I had with my mother's permission. If I won the Eurocup, they would give me permission to buy the car and look, in the end I bought it when I was 22, I've been driving a normal car for a long time. It's a prize that I wanted for a long time because I love cars, but they made me work hard for it, as it should be.”

Continental success has allowed Williams’ stock to soar, but he claims to still have his feet planted firmly on the ground – as club team-mate Inaki would not allow him to get caught up in his own hype. Williams added: “I really think I'm the same person I've always been. My personality and way of being haven't changed at all, I do the things I used to do before and I think I'm taking this whole boom very naturally. Inaki hasn't had to scold me much!”
