Roda beat Cambuur in penultimate matchPromotion announced in stadium twice Groningen late equaliser takes it to final dayWHAT HAPPENED?
In the penultimate game of the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, Roda beat Cambuur at home to put the pressure on promotion rivals Groningen. With the latter side 1-0 down late on against Telstar, Roda's stadium announcer told fans that a spot in the Eredivisie was secured, causing mass celebrations with fans entering the pitch. Groningen then scored in the dying seconds, halting the party. After that, the announcer falsely said their opponents Telstar had scored another goal, confusing spectators once again.

Roda have not been in the Eredivisie since 2014 so the outpour of relief after their match despite not actually being promoted can be forgiven. The Dutch side had spent 41 years in the top flight before their relegation a decade ago but now must get the business done on the final day of the season if they are to join Willem II in the ascendancy.
XWHAT NEXT FOR RODA JC?
There is a lot on the line for Roda on the final day and they travel to rivals Groningen for a spot in the Eredivisie. A win for either side will see them claim second place and promotion, but Roda know a point will be enough for them to go up.
