Ajax suffered a shock defeat at the hands of rivals Feyenoord on Sunday as they went down 6-0 in De Klassieker in the league. This was their worst-ever defeat in the Eredivisie, with the last time they lost by a margin of five goals or more in the Dutch top-flight coming back when they were beaten 9-4 by De Kuip in 1964.

Igor Paixao and Yankuba Minteh scored a brace each while David Hancko and Quinton Timber found the back of the net in their team's comprehensive win at Feyenoord Stadium. Feyenoord managed a total of 31 shots in the game to Ajax's one as they dominated proceedings from start to finish. This also marked Ajax's 14th defeat in all competitions as they equalled their previous record for the most losses in a single season.
