The U.S. U17s were placed in Group E alongside France, Burkina Faso and South Korea. Gonzalo Segares' boys bagged two wins out of three matches and qualified for the knockout stage, finishing second behind France with six points. Their only defeat in the group came in the form of a 3-0 reversal against France.
