Joe Hart still doesn't regard himself as the England number one despite his recent elevation to the role.
The Manchester City keeper has started the last three internationals following a shake-up of the England squad by head coach Fabio Capello after the disastrous World Cup.
Veteran former number one David James and long-time first-choice Paul Robinson have both retired, leaving Hart, West Ham's Robert Green and Ben Foster of Birmingham City competing for the starting role.
The 23-year-old has deposed Shay Given as City's first-choice this season but still doesn't believe he can call the England jersey his own.
"I don't feel established at all yet," he told the Daily Mirror."I still feel quite new to City, even though I've been here a long time.
"I class myself as new and I'm also new to the England scene, so I've got an awful lot of work to do to try and nail down a place."
Hart is expected to start next week's Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro at Wembley.Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
