It’s been a pretty terrible day for certain managers trying to regain belief for the fans. First, Newcastle United suffered a 3-1 home defeat at St. James Park at the hands of AFC Bournemouth meaning survival in the Premier League has become a more difficult task. Then Aston Villa produced a derisory performance in a 4-0 loss against title contenders Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium leaving it virtually impossible for them to maintain their Premier League status.
Now, Everton manager Roberto Martinez is the latest boss to be on the receiving end of heavy criticism after letting slip a 2-0 goal lead to lose 3-2 against Champions League chasing West Ham United at Goodison Park. This now means the Toffees have won just four of their last 17 home games.
It leaves the Merseysiders in 11th place, a lower than expected position for the Everton faithful, meaning the fans have questioned Martinez capabilities of bringing European football back to the Blue side of Liverpool…
