What’s the word?

The Sun claim United’s stars felt he was “wildly over-paid” and “undeserving” of his huge wages. The report adds that one player repeatedly complained “he was no Messi so why pay him all that dough”.
A divisive influence
More than anything, Sanchez’s departure allows United to start with somewhat of a clean slate. Handing the 30-year-old an eye-watering contract to sign for the club back in January 2018 has been an albatross around the club’s neck, constantly weighing them down. Why should players like Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial accept below-par deals when they know one of their under-performing teammates is earning a ridiculous amount to essentially do nothing?
So in the financial sense, it allows the Red Devils to restore a sense of order. No longer are the Chilean’s wages the reference point when it comes to future contract negotiations. On top of that, it removes a player from the squad who may have been a potentially divisive influence.
Romelu Lukaku’s explosive comments on how he felt the likes of him, Paul Pogba and Sanchez were made out to be scapegoats for United’s failings raised the idea that not all was well at Old Trafford.
Was everyone pulling in the right direction at the club? Now, with both Lukaku and Sanchez gone, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made a major effort in cleansing the atmosphere around the team and can allow them to finally move on.
